Controversial Authentic Anthony Barr Jersey fluoride has intriguing ties to Johnstown
Water fluoridation has been a controversial topic for decades. Though strongly advocated as a public service by the mainstream dental community, it is opposed by some scientists and others who believe it does more harm than good.
And given the growing body of conflicting studies on both sides, it doesn't appear that these differences will be resolved anytime soon.
The American Dental Association supports the fluoridation of public water supplies and has, in fact, lobbied to make this additive mandatory in states including Pennsylvania.
"That has not come to fruition yet," said Rob Pugliese, communication director for the Pennsylvania Dental Association.
"We have the same belief as the ADA," he added. "All the organizations the ADA, the PDA all support water fluoridation. That's the same stance we've had forever."
The reason, he said, comes down to results. He cited statistics from the Journal of Dental Research showing that those who lived most of their lives in fluoridated water communities had up to 30 percent less tooth decay than those who spent most of their lives in non fluoridated areas.
"Fluoride is a proven cavity fighter," he said. "It's effective and it's safe. It's a natural element."
According to Pugliese, it's also cheap: A year's worth of fluoride normally costs somewhere between 50 cents and $3 per water customer.
"It doesn't cost a lot, comparatively," he said.
"It really helps everyone regardless of socioeconomic condition," he added. "We really look at fluoride as an access to care issue. You're always looking to give people the best care they can get."
Pugliese acknowledged, however, that high doses of fluoride can be dangerous.
"You have to have it in the right amount," he said.
Dr. Martin Hogan director of the dental general practice residency program at Loyola University's Oral Health Center stressed that fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral in some foods and water.
Hogan said it is useful because it hardens and remineralizes tooth enamel.
"Most people get enough from the drinking water that they don't need supplementation," he said.
Asked if there are any downsides, www.vikingsofficialonlineshop.com/Teddy_Bridgewater_Jersey_Vikings Hogan noted that overexposure will cause dental fluorosis spotty discoloration of the teeth.
"It's not a problem," he said. "It's not a disease, it's just a cosmetic thing."
Hogan added that ingesting high concentrations of fluoride will cause nausea, which is why Vikings Teddy Bridgewater Jersey toddlers aren't given fluoride treatments at their dental appointments.
"We usually typically don't start that until the age of 5," he said. "Usually younger kids under the age of 5 want to swallow it."
According to Hogan, the fluoride in public water supplies is diluted to a harmless amount.
According to Kukura, putting fluoride into a municipal water supply is a true science. He said regular testing is done to keep the ratio below 0.7 milligrams per liter and the pH at an acceptable level.
"Fluoride's an acid," he said. "So you have www.vikingsofficialonlineshop.com/Anthony_Barr_Jersey_Vikings to add lime to counteract those acidic properties."
Kukura said he has never received negative feedback or resistance from local customers about fluoridation.

Seattle Seahawks topple Denver Broncos
Seattle Seahawks (6 1)
Like his team, Pete Carroll had never before been 6 1 as an NFL coach. He was, however, 6 2 once: in 1999, with New England. That Patriots team, led by QB Drew Bledsoe, then lost six of its final eight games Devonta Freeman Falcons Jersey to plummet to .500 and miss the playoffs. defense (425).
New Orleans Saints (5 1)
One of Pro Football Focus' stats ("Total Pressure") counts the combined sacks, hits and hurries for each defender. Watt, who has played seven games to Jordan's six.
Denver Broncos (6 Prince Shembo Authentic Jersey 1)
Ronnie Hillman has two career rushing touchdowns. Knowshon Moreno has eight this season. So, why exactly did the Broncos try to sneak Hillman into the end zone in the fourth quarter Sunday, down by nine? The decision backfired Hillman fumbled inside the Colts' Falcons Prince Shembo Jersey 5, putting the kibosh on Denver's comeback attempt.
Indianapolis Colts (5 2)
Reggie Wayne, who Sunday night suffered a season ending ACL tear, will finish 2013 with 1,006 career catches. That's more than the total of every other Colts player combined . by more than 350 catches. The rest of the roster has 651 receptions among it.
San Francisco 49ers (5 2)
Colin Kaepernick through seven games of the 49ers' 2013 season: 103 of 182 passing for 1,420 yards and eight touchdowns. Colin Kaepernick through seven games of the 49ers' 2012 season: 5 of 8 passing for 89 yards and no touchdowns.
Cincinnati Bengals (5 2)
The Bengals have won back to back Authentic Devonta Freeman Jersey games by the exact same 27 24 score, which by my count is the first time that has ever occurred in NFL history. So . congratulations, Bengals?
Green Bay Packers (4 2)
Oh, hey, look at that: The Packers headed into Week 7 battered by injuries, and Jarrett Boykin just happened to lead the team in receptions and yards. The evidence continues to mount that Aaron Rodgers is some sort of wizard.
New England Patriots (5 2)
A career high 17 targets for Rob Gronkowski on Sunday. That explains why Tom Brady was following him through the locker room, muttering "Never leave again. Never leave again."
Dallas Cowboys (4 3)
Haven't the Buccaneers had a bad enough season without George Selvie piling on the misery? Tampa Bay signed Selvie in April and released him in May, paving the way for Dallas to pick him up. All he's done so far in 2013 is record 4.5 sacks, more than doubling his career total.
San Diego Chargers (4 3)
The Chargers had the ball for 37 minutes and change during their win over the Jaguars, something that has become a trend. San Diego currently has the longest average drive time in the NFL, at 3 minutes and 14 seconds per possession.
New York Jets (4 3)
If the Jets never get another thing out of running back Chris Ivory, they'll probably still deem their trade for him a 2013 fourth round pick a success. Ivory rushing for 104 yards in a dramatic OT win over the hated Patriots makes anything that happens from here on a bonus.
Detroit Lions (4 3)
Whenever the Lions seem on the verge of jumping into the conversation as a contender, they do something to remind everyone what a difficult journey they have had. Sunday, it was this: Sam Martin averaged 48.3 yards on his first three punts; his fourth traveled 28 yards, short enough to allow Cincinnati to later boot a game winning field goal.
Carolina Panthers (3 3)
Yeah, yeah, Cam Newton. Is anyone aware that the Panthers boast the league's second stingiest defense? With a disruptive front seven, Carolina has masked its issues in the secondary and is coughing up just 13.8 points per game.
Nick Foles Throws 3 Touchdown Passes VIDEO
A week after tying the NFL record by passing for seven TDs, Foles connected for three long touchdowns and the Philadelphia Eagles pulled away for a 27 13 victory over the injury ravaged Packers on Sunday.
Foles connected with DeSean Jackson for a 55 yard score in the first half. Touchdown passes to Riley Cooper from 45 and 32 yards highlighted a 17 point second half for the up tempo Eagles.
Philadelphia handed Green Bay its first back to back home losses since 2008, Rodgers' first season as the starter. It was the worst home loss for the Packers since falling 38 10 to the New York Jets on Dec. 3, 2006.
Third stringer Scott Tolzien, who played college ball at Wisconsin and was just signed off the practice squad this week, filled in well with 280 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions. He zipped a 22 yard pass to Brandon Bostick with 3:29 left in the third quarter to cut the Eagles' lead to 20 10.
But quarterback play turned out to be the least of the Packers' problems on a crisp, fall afternoon.
The strong armed Foles exposed Green Bay's secondary in the second half. Cooper was wide open on both of his long scores, rolling over the goal line on his 45 yard score after being untouched on the ground, then working his way wide open toward the left sideline after Morgan Burnet slipped for the 32 yard score to make it 27 10 with 10 seconds left in the third quarter.
Linebacker Clay Matthews returned after a four game absence, wearing a large, black wrap to protect his injured right thumb. But the pass rushing specialist was neutralized mostly by the tricky, quick strike Eagles.
LeSean McCoy finished with 155 yards on 25 carries, the second straight week that Green Bay's typically staunch run defense had allowed a 100 yard rusher. McCoy softened the Packers with runs of 9 and 25 yards on the Eagles' first series of the second half before Foles found Cooper for the 45 yard score and a 17 3 lead.
Foles finished 12 of 18 for 228 yards. He still hasn't thrown an interception this season, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame has requested a game worn jersey and cleats that Foles wore during his record tying, seven TD performance against Oakland.
Could be tough for Michael Vick to get his starting job back any time soon. He was inactive a second straight week with a hamstring injury.
The Packers caught a break in the fourth quarter when Foles lost the ball after being sacked by Mike Daniels and Tramon Williams. A replay review found Foles fumbled before hitting the ground and McCarthy thought he was back in business with the ball on the Eagles 13 with a chance to cut the lead to one possession.
But in a season full of adversity, bad luck found Green Bay again.
Another replay review found Jordy Nelson didn't hold on for possession before falling to the turf in the end zone on a fourth and 4 pass from Tolzien.
The teams combined for three missed field goals in a choppy first half, including a 53 yard miss by Green Bay's Mason Crosby off the right upright.
And a rash of injuries slowed down the pace the entire afternoon. The Eagles lost left tackle Jason Peters to a quad injury.
The Packers were especially devastated. Already without Rodgers and Wallace, Green Bay lost two starting offensive linemen in Evan Dietrich Smith (knee) and right tackle Don Barclay. Lang, who Ra'Shede Hageman Falcons Jersey was returning from a concussion, to slide over to center meaning the Packers went most of the game with a third string quarterback and backup center.
The protection was spotty. Still, Tolzien showed a strong arm, and seemed at ease with the playbook. Jarrett Boykin had eight catches for 112 yards.
Wallace hit all five of his passes for 25 yards before leaving with the injury.
Cooper finished with three catches for 102 yards, while Jackson had four catches for 80 yards. He caught his 27th career touchdown of 55 or more yards.

Ravens win battle of the Harbaughs
The Ravens (8 3) chased, hindered and battered Alex Smith for much of the night despite playing without middle linebacker Ray Lewis, the team's leading tackler and spiritual leader. Lewis was inactive for a second straight game with a foot injury.
Terrell Suggs had three sacks for Baltimore, which moved a half game ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North.
John, 49, and Jim, 47, grew up dueling each other in all sorts of games. Competing this time on a national stage, John secured an emotional win over his little brother.
During the final minute, John got a Gatorade bath from his players twice. After the final whistle, the brothers hugged at midfield.
Baltimore broke a 6 6 tie with a 76 yard, 16 play drive that lasted more than 7 minutes and ended with an 8 yard touchdown pass from Joe Flacco to tight end Dennis Pitta with 14:56 left. Flacco went 4 for 4 for 34 yards and a touchdown on third down during the drive.
Billy Cundiff wrapped up the scoring with his third field goal, a 39 yarder with 4:16 remaining.
In a game dominated by both defenses, Flacco finished 15 for 23 for 161 yards and Ray Rice ran for 59 yards on 21 carries.
Smith completed 15 of 24 passes for 140 yards and an interception. He never could get into a rhythm against an aggressive defense that rarely let him set up in the pocket.
The 49ers began the third quarter with a 13 play drive that lasted 7 minutes and produced a 52 yard field goal by David Akers for a 6 6 tie. The key play was an 18 yard completion from Smith to Michael Crabtree on a third and 17 from the San Francisco 26.
The Ravens responded with their lone touchdown drive of the game.
Baltimore sacked Smith four times in the first half and picked off a pass in taking a 6 3 lead.
The Ravens took the opening kickoff and moved 55 yards 38 of them on a pair of Flacco to Anquan Boldin completions before Cundiff kicked a 39 yard field goal.
Late in the first quarter, a 20 yard completion from Smith to tight end Vernon Davis set up a 45 yard field goal by Akers.
The 49ers blew a chance to take the lead when Frank Gore was penalized for a chop block on a 75 yard touchdown pass from Smith to Ted Ginn, who got behind Cary Williams deep down the middle.
Neither team had much cheap jerseys luck moving the ball until San Francisco's Tarell Brown was called for pass interference on a long pass to Torrey Smith. The 50 yard penalty put the ball at the 15, and although the Ravens turned it into a first and goal at the 4, they had to settle for a 23 yard field goal with 2:51 left in the half.
