Ko confirmed to TVNZ, a New Zealand television station, that she is splitting with Wilson. But not over a disagreement over the direction of her Jordan Matthews Jersey golf swing, but rather logistics.
Wilson plans to remain in New Zealand while Ko and her family move to the United States. The New Zealand Herald newspaper called the split "unfortunate by inevitable" because of the distance between the instructor and his superstar pupil.
Ko told TVNZ, "It doesn't really work; him being here and him coming on the weeks that I'm not playing a tournament means I'll only see him like 10 times a year, and to me that kind of situation didn't work out."
Who will take over as Ko's coach? Every instructor in the business would salivate as the prospect of working with her, but the early money is on David Leadbetter.
Ko's golf hero is Michelle Wie, and Wie is a longtime Leadbetter client (although Leadbetter's work with Wie is, to put it mildly, controversial). According to the Associated Press, Ko spent time in Florida at the Leadbetter Academy recently working with various Eagles Marcus Smith Jersey instructors there.
Hopefully, the lucky golf instructor who takes over from Wilson in guiding Ko will abide by that old saw: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
One Big Break season just ended, the next one is only two months away.
NFL legend Jerry Rice's team emerged the champion on Big Break NFL, which aired its finale Tuesday night. Rice and partners Emily Talley and Isaac Sanchez defeated Team Doleman, consisting of former NFL star Chris Doleman with Shannon Fish and Brian Cooper, 1 up in the championship match.
Rice gets $50,000 to give to the charity of his choice. Talley and Sanchez each got $50,000 cash (to keep), plus other prizes. But most importantly, each gets into a tour event in 2014.
For Talley, she'll play in the 2014 ShopRite LPGA Classic; Sanchez gets into the 2014 FedEx St. Jude Classic.

The next edition of The Big Break returns to familiar territory. It is called Big Break Florida and it premieres in February 2014. The cast Women's Marcus Smith Jersey will consist of 12 golfers, all women, whose identities will be revealed in January.
