Sleep apnea is a condition that can cause drowsiness. But in many cases, a health condition like fibromyalgia, a thyroid problem, a disease like mononucleosis, obesity, or obstructive sleep apnea, can make you sleepy. Other conditions that may lead to drowsiness include those that cause chronic pain.
