Troponin consists of 3 subunits: TnI, which is the inhibitor of actomyosin ATPase; TnT, which contains the binding site for tropomyosin; and TnC, the protein encoded by this gene. The binding of calcium to TnC abolishes the inhibitory action of TnI, thus allowing the interaction of actin with myosin, the hydrolysis of ATP, and the generation of tension. Mutations in this gene are associated with cardiomyopathy dilated type 1Z.

Cardiac echography is one of the most widely used methods for diagnosing heart diseases. Ultrasound is also used to diagnose diseases in other parts of the body.
Ultrasound is emitted by a probe (transducer) that can both emit and detect ultrasound. The ultrasound probe can be placed in different parts of the patient.
Chest (transthoracic)
Esophagus (transesophageal)
Cardiac Catheter (Intracardiac)
The role and characteristics of cardiac echography examination:
Echocardiography can be used to detect whether the movement of the myocardium is normal, and how much blood is discharged each time the heart beats. It can also detect abnormalities in the heart structure, such as heart valve defects, congenital defects and ventricular enlargement.
