Today was a well needed day, faith in humanity and social media restored. What started off as a visit to some lakes for a walk, I noticed on the way that this poor cottage was close to getting flooded. I didn’t think much of it, but thought I’d knock and ask if they needed any help to prevent it coming in.

This 80+ year old opened the door and said usually her son would help with this stuff but he died this Thursday. She burst into tears and i felt I had no other option but to assist.

Reached out on social media to my followers for help and we had some fantastic people show up and put in the effort. Especially a man called Gavin who donated 200 bags of sand and drove over 2hrs on two trips to deliver them. Five hours later, we managed to get it under control with the St Albans fire brigade. A massive thank you to everyone from volunteers, to pump suppliers, to bucket deliveries and brooms. We finally managed to hold the water back. Faith is restored in humanity.
