Owning a pet can be rewarding and scary at the same time. There are chances you will have to deal with your dog’s stresses and anxieties. Just like humans, dogs too experience anxiety. This can be unpleasant but also a healthy emotion. Anxiety affects all dog breeds but can affect each dog differently. However, the most important thing is to know what causes your dogs anxiety and how to deal with it.
In this video, we have an example of a dog that has been suffering from Anxiety. Fluffy is eight years old and has been living with his owner, William, for eight years. He is amongst many dogs that are suffering from anxiety.
Fluffy was full of energy and friendly before he developed anxiety. He enjoyed taking his walks and socialising with other dogs in the park. This changed when William took him to the park and was attacked by three big dogs. Since then, Fluffy has become unfriendly to big dogs but can relate well with smaller ones.
Fluffy’s behaviour has also become unpredictable. He can sometimes be gentle to strangers and sometimes become aggressive to those he knows well. His owner, William, wants the best for his fur friend and would love to help him reduce his anxiety, improve his mood and his general well-being.
But, what brings about dog anxiety?
Anxiety can be triggered by loud noises, environmental changes or, separation anxiety. It does not choose certain dog breeds. Your pet can also be at risk! It is, therefore, important to know what triggers your fur friend’s anxiety to know how to control it.
