The cross country winter storm has left several southern states in rare freezing temperatures and some could see record lows. The risk of life-threatening cold is ever more urgent for the nearly 900,000 people still without power and heat in their homes especially in Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana and eastern Texas.
