Field Technician Job DescriptionThe Career of Engineering Technician with Specialization in Telecommunications constitutes specialized training at the university technological level with a curricular structure integrated in three areas of knowledge such as: humanistic, scientific and professional.
2. Entry ProfileThe Entry Profile integrates the set of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that must be gathered and demonstrated by the student that aspires to pursue a career in Engineering or non-engineering within the Technological University of Panama (UTP) and that will favor their success in the program , guaranteeing the performance and formative trajectory until concluding his professional studies.
The Income Profile includes the following knowledge, skills, attitudes and values:
Capacity for verbal reasoning, indirect writing and mathematical reasoning.Knowledge of specific concepts of the exact sciences: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.Ability to read and understand the content of academic texts in their mother tongue and in another language (English).Ability to communicate orally and in writing with clarity and coherence in the Spanish language.Basic knowledge of English.Capacity for the treatment of information and digital competence.Provision for autonomous learning and interest and responsibility in the fulfillment of academic duties.Inclination to the critical analysis of the reality object of study.Interest in changes and technological innovations and in research.Willingness to participate with leadership, entrepreneurial attitude and responsibility in academic, scientific and cultural activities. Aspiration to develop in environments of high academic and professional standards working in teams in a cooperative and collaborative way.Ethical and moral conduct to feel and act honestly in accordance with moral values and good morals assuming responsibility for their actions.3. Entry RequirementsTo enter the career, the applicant must have a secondary education degree, issued by an official or private staff incorporated to the Ministry of Education; or by unincorporated or foreign schools, provided that the duration of said studies is not less than five (5) years at the secondary level and are recognized by the Ministry of Education.
The entry requirements for first-year students and students who have studied at a higher level are the following:
First-year students:
Pass the Entrance Tests: Academic Aptitude Test (PAA).Present the Diagnostic Test of English Language Knowledge (ELASH).Present the Psychological Test.Attend and pass the Basic Mathematics course and the Seminar on Induction to University Student Life.Foreign students must first go to the General Secretariat or the Academic Secretariat of the Regional Center to provide entry requirements for foreigners at the Technological University of Panama . Students who have studied at a higher level (National or foreign universities):
Apply for validation up to 30 days before the registration period.Apply for admission by validation through a letter addressed to the Secretary General of the Technological University of Panama . ( See Requirements for Processing Credit Validation. (PDF, 30 KB) ).Documents that the first-entry student must submit to register:
Two (2) copies of the identity card, on both sides, (migration card or valid passport if you are a foreigner) or birth certificate if you are not of legal age.Two (2) copies of the high school diploma (you must submit the original to confront the copies).Original and copy of the credits of the secondary school (from 7th to 12th year).Two (2) passport-size photos.Two (2) copies of the PAA and ELASH tests.Two (2) copies of the Certificate of Honorable Mention if you are a scholarship student from the Technological University of Panama.Important note: These documents are delivered to the Academic Secretariat of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering or to the Academic Secretariat of the Regional Centers.
4. Graduate ProfileThe Technician (a) in Engineering with Specialization in Telecommunications is a professional with knowledge to give support: installation, preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment and telecommunications systems.
5. CostThe approximate cost of the Technician (a) degree in Engineering with Specialization in Telecommunications is B /. 447.80.
Note : These costs only cover the costs of registration, diploma and graduate academic record. They do not contemplate the Work of Graduation that is chosen by the student among several options once they complete the subjects of the study plan. They do not include expenses of graduation ceremony and do not include the costs of diploma and academic record of graduate of the intermediate degree of technician.
