  Waffles INCaffeinated

  $29 and change for two people with tax and tip for what was supposed to be extra burnt bacon.(Thank goodness they forgot the extra) four slices on one plate, two on the other. Cold roasted tomatoes which I suspect may have been uneaten from a previous customer's plate. Almost $4 for a "large" orange juice and $2 coffee. O yeah, the entertainment. Our particular server was pleasant, but the rest of the staff seemed pretentious, and by reading other reviews and blogs, seems to be a common trend.

  I guess if you like waffles, then maybe this is the place for you. But if you want a regular hobo breakfast, and local diner or greasy spoon will do. For the food or atmosphere for that matter.

  Wonderful food and service each time I've been to their South Side and New Brighton locations. I'm a huge fan of this restaurant. I've had the Steak Eggs, the BC breakfast, the Eggs Benny, the Tuna Tartar salad, the Megaberry. Every option was completely delicious, and service was attentive and friendly. I have to admit that as an educated consumer I looked at their other reviews and was very frustrated by the review that I saw by pghkid. This person obviously did not do their research. They stated that this place was basically rude for going in near a family owned restaurant, but they are a family owned restaurant themselves. I went in for breakfast this morning and spoke to one of the owners not only are they a family owned restaurant, including a husband and wife team and the chef, the mind behind the menu and the original restaurant concept, being their cousin, out of their partnership of 4 people, 2 of them are military and being deployed to Afghanistan in a matter of. more >Wonderful food and service each time I've been to their South Side and New Brighton locations. Respectable to say the least. I already loved their food, and knowing these little itricacies about the place made me love it even more. I guess everyone should go for themselves form their own opinions, but I for one will keep going back time time again. Service was quite rushed although I was one of three tables. My plate was almost cleared twice although I wasnt beat done and the bill was attempted to be picked up 10 seconds after it was dropped, even though I was dining alone I was writing some emails on my phone an attempting to relax. I promptly finished an left feeling bothered. And to too it off as I mentioned food was reasonable but $6 for an apple juice?!?!?!?! As my wife put it, it not like they even fresh squeezed it. I will not be returning.

  Finally a legit breakfast place on the Southside that knows how to poach an egg and make hollandaise from scratch, not to mention, prepare light as air waffles!

  My husband and I were so excited to see a real restaurant open in the 2500 block of Carson. Let me tell you, the wait was worth it! We were there early on opening day and tried the Benny (eggs benedict on a waffle with griddled ham crab meat) and waffle with sausage gravy everything was super fresh and expertly prepared. They even managed to make sausage gravy hearty yet surprisingly light, the sprinkle of diced green onion really made it pop.

  We went back today and brought some friends another fabulous experience! Everyone was so happy with their meals. Service is friendly and attentive and the food is top notch. We are excited to try the whole menu as they have lots of fun brunch/lunch items as well.

  The Funky MonkeyMy brother and i went in with a couple friends today (new years day) and had an awesome meal! the wait was pretty long but understandable as it was NY's Day and the place was completely packed to the brim. They offer a diverse menu with very creative presentation and noticeably fresh ingredients. The wait for the food was pretty long but, as i said, its a new restaurant getting used to the southside heat and was completely full. Pam's doesnt have anything on the presentation, creativity and freshness of the items offered. Definitely becoming a southside hit and a force to be reckoned with in the breakfast department!

  Breakfast Magic with a side of mushroomsI come here with my boyfriend every Saturday, and sometimes Sunday. It gets better every time and we never get sick of it, which is unusual for both of us. The atmosphere is great. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The food is always hot, fresh, and beautifully presented. The coffee is excellent and our mugs are always full. We both recommend the maple latte! Also, the Funky Monkey is a great choice for those who want something sweet. For savory, I always go with the Breakfast Magic with a side of mushrooms or the delicious, multi colored home fries (pictured).

  If anyone is complaining about the wait then they need to go to Eat n' Park or Denny's because you can't expect to get seated immediately at a place where the food is always delicious and the space and hours of operation are limited because it is solely a breakfast/lunch restaurant.

  If you like waffles you'll love this place, if you don't particularly care for waffles, you'll still like this place. Great waffles made for every ones taste. The toppings are great, but some of the ingredients are even incorporated in the waffle batter. You can custom make your our creation if you feel adventurous. The Eggs Benedict waffle topped with crab was to die for as was the Southern Waffle. It had chorizo and bacon in the batter, topped with pico de gallo, green onion and a fired egg. (see picture) It was awesome with bourbon flavored syrup. If you absolutely hate waffles (I can't imagine), never fear, they offer regular breakfast as well as lunch items. Coffee gets and 8 out of 10.

  I must say the food is quite good but I can safely say that I have never received service worse than at WafflesINCaffeinated. I was greeted 5 minutes after sitting down and did not receive my coffee or water for 30 minutes.

  If that alone wasn't unacceptable enough the waitress forgot my friends order and said that, "the manager will discount her meal". She did alright, a whopping .90 cents!

  After I concluded my meal I asked to see a manager who than began to list a laundry list of reasons for the poor service. Among these excuses were a cook called off, it's just been a bad day, and she did not attempt to rectify the situation in any stretch of the imagination. I was charged full price for waiting an inordinate amount of time for water and coffee at a breakfast place.

  Thankfully I had the gull to ask for a real discount ($6) which was no means appropriate but at least subsidized my ridiculously over priced juice, that was $6 and I am very sure was Tropicana.

  I'm not usually one to write a review but this Resturant will never see me again and I strongly encourage others to try other places. They have much to learn about customer service and should be embarrassed with the way they treated my party who all work in the service industry.
