Sexual Harassment Sexual harassment is a widespread and extremely serious problem. An EEOC survey conducted in 1994, one year before the landmark Supreme Court decision in "Meritor Savings Bank v. Vinson" created sexual harassment as a matter of federal law, found that one out of every four women had been the victim of a sexual assault or abusive incident at work.
Sexual harassment is unwanted, unwelcomed behavior of a sexual nature that includes inappropriate verbal, nonverbal, or physical contact. Sexual assault is any type of sexual contact or behavior that occurs without the explicit consent of the recipient.
Sexual Harassment Awareness Training Sexual Harassment Awareness Training is a program designed to give employees the information they need to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. By providing participants with an understanding of prohibited behavior and the resources available to address complaints, SHAT aims to create a more inclusive, respectful work environment.
