While long-term mortality statistics on the roads are increasingly positive, as data are lower year on year, if we look at the results more closely, in one case mortality has increased last year. More pedestrians without safety vest died in the cities. How to prevent it? Here are five tips. In 2016 545 people died on Czech roads, 177 of them in the dark. Last year, 32.5% of the total killed in the night was killed. Year-on-year, the number of 30-night casualties has fallen by 30, but their share in the total number of deaths has increased by 1.1 percent. In the long run, most pedestrians without reflective vest die in the dark. In 2016, there were 66 fatal cases. Another 11 fatal cases from their ranks registered statistics in casualties that occurred during the day but in reduced visibility. "Last year, 69.4 percent of pedestrians lost their lives in an accident that occurred in the dark and in general under reduced visibility - in rain, mist, snow, dawn or dusk," says Roman. In the village, 38 pedestrians died in the night accidents last year, by 4 more than in 2015. The accident rate of pedestrian deaths occurred outside the municipality. Supporters of the wearing of security elements therefore have an argument. Last February, the obligation to wear reflective elements outside the community came into force; it is not necessary in cities. However, it is a question of whether the improvements in safety would help the elements, or rather the greater caution of both drivers and pedestrians.

The best for your safety would be if the reflective elements were copying your front and back outline. However, who would like to go out of the pub or evening out in a reflective vest... "We place the reflective tape in the direction of the road, right side of the body, to the ankle or the wrist," explains Martin. However, if only one tape is available, it is better to place it on your ankle. "The lights of the car are shining from the bottom to illuminate the tape on the ankle before the wrist," notes the head of the BESIP. If you have a reflex tape attached to your wrist, be careful not to cover it with your sleeve. If you feel as good as a reflective tape like a lighted mobile phone, remember that not only do you fail to comply with the statutory duty, but you run the risk that the phone will run out and the driver will not see you. Conversely, if you want to underline the effect of reflection, you can shine with fluorescent colors in the shade or rain. It does not provide the reflection of the light, but it will prolong the distance the driver sees you. Every extra meter decides It would seem like a cumbersome recalculation of every inch, it is not unnecessary malignancy. Every additional meter available to the driver to stop or safely avoid is counted on the unlit road. So, know that pedestrians with visible reflective elements will record the driver at a distance of 200 meters. At 65 km / h, he has enough time to figure out the potential danger, decides what to do, maneuver, and comfortably completes. In dark clothing, the distance you see on the side is shrinking to just 18 meters. At the same speed, the car is blinking in one second. "The driver has virtually no chance to react to the pedestrian and avoid him safely," emphasizes Martin. Reflective material is necessary for night. And we're still talking about speeds that only a few people get out of town. With a speed of 90 kilometers per hour, a chauffeur needs a safe walker of at least 90 meters, and even in the white clothing that is the best reflex, you can only see it at a distance of 55 meters.

The running backpack is not exactly the part of the equipment that every runner would need like as safety vest, but his time comes when you do not have enough pockets for your elastics, kidneys and other storage items. If you have high demands on cross-country skiing, the Salomon S-LAB Advanced Skin Hydro 12 set is a backpack that can fully satisfy you. To use a running backpack as such I see two main reasons. The first is to take part in trail races, where more mandatory requirements are required, which you simply will not find in your pockets. Among the refreshment stations, it is also usually longer than it can safely run out of water. The second reason has a more practical character. Running is becoming an increasingly popular means of transport and such a morning run to work combines a relatively high travel speed with time savings, as you no longer need to look for further training. In the absence of perfect home and work facilities, the pile of things to transport will also grow accordingly. The storage space is divided into two main parts. One of them is zipped and the other, horizontal, is freely accessible from above. In addition, on the chest straps you will find two bigger bottle pockets and four open pockets and two zippers beneath them. This fragmented layout is based on the quickest approach to stored things. Throw away the little things you need during the race as you like it, but if you want to carry something bigger, like a gym training boot or a lunch box, you are unlucky. It does not fit in small pockets. The backpack weighs an unbelievable 420 grams, and if you put it on your back, it's as if you were wearing only a textile reflective vest. Compared to similar products from other brands or from the lower Salomon range, this is a significant difference. For comparison, the XA10 + 3, which is great as a backpack and I thought for a long time that nothing much more comfortable could not be made, is 200 grams heavier and the difference is understandable. The world of cross-country skiing bags has been thrown in recent days by warrior bags against those who prefer bottles. Arguments are strong on both sides. The bag is more storable, better isolated in frost and warmth, access and drinking is easier, but it is more difficult to fill and one does not need to know how much fluids it still has. Bottles can be filled with a variety of drinks, you have a perfect insight into how much you have drunk and how much you have left, but it can be difficult to insulate in the winter, and the handling itself is more difficult to drink. I personally prefer the bag to be bottled in front of my bottles, and even soft flashes have not changed my mind. It sits on the chest without the slightest movement and does not make any unpleasant impression, but the unusual weight in the front, along with the more complicated manipulation when drinking with me, is exhibited by a stopper bottle. The only situation where I prefer soft flasks is mountain hiking where there is plenty of time to handle the bottles. On the other hand, the shadowy side of this differently packed backpack is the absence of any reflective elements. The only reflective surface is the loop on the underside of the backpack, which is not visible at all angles. If you run for bad visibility on bumpy roads and roads, do not forget the blinker. Not only during life is man Apart from running, we also use a backpack for hiking, mountain biking and cycling or scooter rides. Running on the equipment is the most demanding, so it's not surprising that even with other activities, the backpack behaves just as well.

For pedestrians there is already a duty to be safely seen while walking along the road. Sometimes Just a few reflective elements that can save your life and help you avoid the fines. See and mainly be seen. This is the motto of the amendment to the Act on Road Traffic, which has brought many changes since Saturday not only for drivers but also for pedestrians. From now on, they would not have gone out of the village under reduced visibility in a place that is not illuminated, coming out without a reflective element on clothing. Otherwise, two thousand shall be taken from the wallet, in the administrative proceedings up to two and a half. A series of tests showed that the figure in dark clothing is visible to the driver of the arriving vehicle at only 18 meters, in white clothing already at 55 meters and with reflective markings already at 200 meters, which is enough distance for a safe escape maneuver. The novel of the law is also welcomed by the young driver Katarina, who has met unimaginably "invisible" pedestrians. "I think the introduction of the reflective material is the right thing, I have seen myself several times that I was a pedestrian at the county road almost overlooked And I have something to do to prevent it from happening, certainly because of this duty to avoid accidents, and even the pedestrian is taken as a legitimate road user, so it should bear the consequences if it causes something, "he thinks. See you? Police officers have been targeting pedestrians since the autumn of 2015. Since then, more than 100,000 reflective tapes have been handed out to unmarked pedestrians. The Tabor policemen took part in the "We see" national prevention event, for example, on February 11, when they handed out bags with reflective stripe and reflective tapes to passers-by at the Kurland shopping center. Even though the amendment to the law came into force already last Saturday, unmarking pedestrians still do not have to be scared yet. "It will be a misdemeanor but we will still explain to the pedestrians why we need to wear reflective tapes and if we have some of them, we will continue to give them away," South Bohemian police spokesman Double. However, all pedestrians also recommend that they take care of their safety and wear reflexive elements in cities where there is poor lighting, driving cars and cyclists. One simply has to light up and the other light reflects. For pedestrians walking along the left side of the road, it is ideal to wear a reflective ribbon on the right hand or foot, which will be directed to the road and an anti-rushing car, will illuminate it. "It is necessary for the pedestrian really to go to the left, so that the passing driver does not shine in his back, but in the face. Cyclists should ideally have tapes on both ankles. The belt not only holds the trouser legs but also has the advantage of being seen from all sides, "explains Double. You do not have to invest in the variety of reflexes if you already own some sportswear or neon-colored shoes.

And here it is! We are probably expecting the first really warm weekend of 2017. A lot of us are already polishing bikes for a premiere trip. Looking at the statistics, however, frost runs backwards. Do you know how many cyclists without wearing safety vest died on the roads last year? Do you know your rights and obligations? Surely there is nothing to underestimate! Cycling is one of our most popular hobbies, with about four million bicycles in Czech households. If we ride a bike on a regular basis, it helps us maintain good physical fitness; we also use it as a means of transport or relaxation. Despite all the undeniable benefits that cycling brings, we should also be aware of the risks. Whenever we are sitting on a bicycle, it is useful to recall that cyclists are the most vulnerable road users along with pedestrians. Also, according to the statistics of the Czech Police, the popularity of this sport is redeemed by an increased number of injuries and deaths. The number of road accidents caused by cyclists without reflective jacket is also considerable. "Bikes caused by cyclists are in the order of hundreds of thousands, but cyclists, unlike car drivers, have no liability to protect them, so if they cause an accident and do not have a liability insurance, the damages must be paid," says Jan, Commercial Director of one of the leading Czech insurance companies. How to prepare for a cycling season and what steps to take to prevent accidents and enjoy cycling tours and without unnecessary unpleasant consequences? At the same time, drivers of a non-motorized vehicle, especially cyclists or scooters, caused 2,625 accidents in which 24 people died. Most accidents occurred in Prague, the Central Bohemian region and the Asti Labem Region. In the case of road traffic, the cases where the cyclist accident is the culprit are not unique. They confirm both police statistics and insurance companies. "The cyclist drove down the hill at high speed, he did not manage the steering and got to the opposite direction where the passenger car was driving, but he managed to avoid the cyclist with wear reflective vest, but the two drivers ended up off the road, causing the injured driver to injure a car with a health-rated injury. CZK 50,000, and property damage of CZK 160,000, compensation was covered by bicycle liability insurance, "Jan describes a typical accident that is the subject of an insurance company's performance.

A fine of up to 2500 crowns! Such sanctions should be brought by an amendment to the road law approved by the government. These sanctions threaten pedestrians who will not have protective reflective elements outside the village. How much does this new measure, which still has to go through the legislative wheel, stand for us? Enhance road safety. This is the intention of the amendment to the Road Act approved by the government. The amendment introduces, among other things, pedestrian obligations to wear reflective elements for impaired visibility, ie in darkness or mist, on roads outside the village. The original draft of the amendment was that the obligation would also apply in municipalities, but it ultimately fell out of law by the legislative council of the government. If these elements do not have pedestrians, they are liable to a fine of 1500 to 2500 crowns. "I am not a great supporter of repressive intervention, we should explain to pedestrians that it is for their safety," said Transport Minister Dan. And how much will the new measure, if it passes through parliament and signed by the president, stand? The most basic equipment is not expensive and can be bought by everyone. In addition, for many security events, these elements are distributed free of charge. The base reflective tapes that we can wrap around our hands or feet cost about 30 to 50 crowns. Like various reflex pendants and stickers, their price is most often between 10 and 50 crowns. Additionally, some people already have problems with their reflective elements because a number of outdated clothes are already wearing them. Reflective elements greatly increase the visibility of pedestrians, with reflective materials being visible at night for up to 200 meters, in white clothing only 55 meters and for example in blue clothing it is only 18 meters. "Reflective material can be seen at night three times as far as white clothing and more than ten times as far as blue clothing. At 75 km / h, the driver needs at least 31 meters (1.5 seconds) to realize the dangers and the corresponding Way, "says Basil. The safety reflective elements can be attached to the hands, feet, back or backpack. However, according to experts, it is best to place them in places where we move like feet or hands.

See and be seen. A well-known rule for car drivers is also valid for all pedestrians. If outside the village they will move under reduced visibility, visible reflective elements must be visible. If they do not, they are facing a two-thousand-dollar block penalty. The relevant amendment to the Road Act has already been signed by the President and will start to apply after it comes out in the Collection of Laws around mid-February. What is important, however, is that reflexive elements will not be mandatory at night only. The resulting version of the law stipulates that pedestrians must "light" also at dusk, fog, snow or more rain, even in the day. The law does not say how the reflection element should look exactly or what the minimum size should be. "It is not so important for police officers to choose a specific reflective element for pedestrians to make them visible in road traffic, but whether the purpose has been achieved and the pedestrian is visible for the other visitor visibility," says Police spokesman Josef Boca. The size matters According to Romano Boesky of the Road Safety Team, however, the reflection area should be large enough. "As a minimum, I consider the dimensions of a high-quality reflective tape, which is to be placed over the wrist, or even above the ankle on the side facing the center of the road," according to expert studies, pedestrians with reflective accessories placed on moving parts of the body. The luminescent points react roughly three times before the reflective surfaces are statically located on the hull, "explains Boesky. At the same time, he appeals to a suitable color, for example, worse experience is with white tapes. Walkers with a white belt, though, fulfill their duty, but the drivers are less responsive to them. "The figure on the roadside can easily blend in with a white horizontal traffic sign, its role is played by the white color of public lighting or headlamps of anti-traffic vehicles," Boesky says. Project "We See" In the beginning, the pedestrian police do not want to scare off and hand down fines. In cooperation with beside, policemen launched the project "We See", where patrols are handed out free of charge to reflective vests or tapes. "If a traffic police patrol shows a visually impaired pedestrian who moves directly on the road, the need to be seen, "says Boca. In the first phase, 100,000 bands were handed out and this year the police and the Basic workers give out another quarter of a million tapes. "At the same time, we received fifty thousand reflective bags for seniors," adds Boca. Bags and tapes are paid from the damages fund managed by the Czech Insurers' Bureau.

  • See and be seen. The Senate unanimously approved an amendment that, among other things, will allow municipalities to restrict the operation. The norm also mandates pedestrians to wear reflective elements outside the village and allows the police to withhold a small technical license in the event of a poor technical condition of the vehicle. The Senate decided on Wednesday despite the efforts of some senators, who wanted to take police officers the right to measure the speed of the ride or to allow cyclists to ride even after drinking less alcohol. The novel, which also obliges motorists to clean vehicles from ice and also from snow if they prevent them from being out of sight, now, gets the president to sign. The norm should also allow for a half-year license to be issued to those who would cross the railway crossing at the time of signaling the arrival of the train. The fine for such a crime has not yet increased, as demanded by greens, according to CSSD senator Petro Galas, but in the future it is considering increasing from five thousand Czech crowns to five times. The largest part of the three-hour debate took over the senators' discussion of the abolition of the right of the police to measure the speed that was advocated by the chairman of the ODS senators and the mayor of Teplice. "The ministry of transport has a negative opinion on the proposal to drop the possibility of measuring the speed of municipal traffic by the police in reflective vest," the minister of transport, Dan, told the senators. He justified this inter alia by not discussing this change with the authorities concerned and assessing its impact on both traffic safety and radar investment. Kobe argued that many municipalities just want to improve their income, so speeds are measured outside the built-up area. He also pointed to the administration and the increase in unpaid fines for traffic offenses, which he said had climbed from 29 million to 43 million crowns in the past five years. The chairman of the CSSD senators admitted that the city police would not be able to measure the speed of the trip, but it compensates for the insufficient capacity of the Republic Police to ensure a higher level of security in the municipalities. This was argued by Senator. "I speak to myself, because I am a city police sponsor, and I often give her a quick ride," she admitted. Senate Vice-President proposed to allow cyclists, according to the Austrian model, 0.8 per mile of alcohol in the blood if they were traveling on third-class roads or cycling paths, or alternatively 0.5 per mile. He also wanted to limit the maximum penalty for alcohol for cyclists to 500 crowns. He argued that policemen often choose fines on vineyard cycling trails. To the duty of reflective elements for pedestrians, vests or only strips on the sleeve, the Minister of Transport stated that the violation would amount to a fine of two thousand dollars. Also said the ministry had a deal with the police to give people more of their reflective tapes. He also announced that his office is seeking an agreement with the Czech Association of Insurers to ensure the removal of non-mobile vehicles. He responded to the request of Senator Jake that the government should take action against overtaking offshoots.

No, this is not a fairy tale. This is a user test run of a lightweight jacket with reflective tape so you're probably no lighter yet in your hand. In truth, when we could see it for the first time, we mistakenly assumed that the Japanese mistakenly sent us a tissue paper model. Do you know all these lucky lamps? From light paper, somewhere in the middle you'll fire it, and its flying. Very imaginative, we said. Only then did we realize that this jacket is really real. The lightweight 7D Jacket was really a great surprise. Running jacket in timeless, inflexible, waterproof, weighing 50 grams? A few days ago I would say that it is not possible. Ultrafine nylon fiber is durable, strong and lightweight. The whole collar with a collar is made of the same material with a rips top finish. The small squares framed with stronger fibers prevent the fabric from further deteriorating in the case of damage to the fabric. The black jacket has a full-body zipper from the YKK quality workshop and has a fine graphic print on the shoulders and sleeves in the same reflective fabric green printing as the zipper itself. Ventilation under increased effort, both the sleeves and the bottom hem of the jacket are finished with elasticized waistband. On the right side you will find a small double-sided zipper from the pocket, which also includes a larger mobile phone. If you do not use your jacket, you can pack it very comfortably into this pocket and use a stitched rubber strap to put it on your arm. The collapsed jacket, due to its small size, can fit virtually any pocket of other pieces of treadmill. In the shorts pockets, small pockets on a running jersey or vest. You can take it as a backup option anywhere for longer runs. You do not even feel weight in your pocket or backpack. At the same time, it is a piece of equipment that can literally save you in the mountains. In addition, all the prints are reflex Although the jacket is very thin and it may seem that its contribution to thermal comfort will not be stunning, the opposite is true. On the one hand, it creates a barrier capable of resisting the elements, and between the body and its cloth maintains a certain air layer. And that's what the thermal insulation is about. The immobile layer of air is a very good insulator. Even the famous goose feather is such a good insulator, precisely because it is capable of retaining air. On the other hand, these good qualities of the jacket will be greatly reduced if we have a backpack on our backs. Its weight in some places does not allow keeping the air-insulating interlayer. Overall, the reflective jacket is probably not a mistake. It's very simple in both editing and execution, but you will not miss it. I think it's a great choice for challenging runs in worse conditions or uncertain weather conditions. At the same time, it will delight all who want the minimum weight of their equipment.

Ideas of employees who wear safety vest have been thinking about their work and have ever suggested a significant change in technology, sometimes making a seemingly minor change in workflow; companies have been using the past regime. Improvements are welcomed by businesses even when private owners already have it. For example, the Ostrava kneeling ironworks, according to spokesman Barbara, motivate its employees to provide improvement ideas. "It is also evident in the growing number of" improvers "that have been handed in. While an average of seventy improvement ideas were made annually in 2003 to 2009, it was almost two hundred in 2010, and 363 enhancers in the past year. Last year, marketers brought the company a saving of more than 27 million crowns, "said Barbara. However, improvement proposals do not only lead to cost savings. They are also targeting, for example, security or ecology (roughly one fifth of the improvement proposals submitted). "The ideas that the firm chooses to put into practice will be rewarded by employees or entire teams implementing the idea. Last year, the innovators received a reward totaling 1.2 million crowns. In addition to the financial rewards, the company will reward the best promoter of each race with a holiday stay for him and his loved ones, "said AMO spokesman Karle, who has made thirty-three improvement suggestions in 2011-2013. How did the reflective tape help? As Barbara Erna specified, importers may not only be important interventions in technology. "Usually, these are minor and simple adjustments that bring great results. A very practical idea, which will soon be rewarded, comes from an employee of the steel mill. The visibility at the steelworks is not always optimal, so it sometimes happens that the crane does not quite see the binder signaling it from the ground. The Improver has come up with the idea of giving reflective tapes also on binder gloves; thereby improving the visibility of the signals the binder navigates the crane. This has a significant contribution to the orientation of the crane and, consequently, to the safety of work, "she described the details of one of the improvement proposals of the Hutt spokesperson. OKD employees submitted a total of 746 improvement proposals last year, of which 502 were recognized as meaningful. "More than 340 of them have already been implemented, and the rest of their implementation is in progress. More than 90 proposals were submitted by special optimization teams created on individual mines and by the project's internal consultants. The company realizes that employee motivation to increasing efficiency, saving energy and, above all, further improving work safety. Therefore, in 2009, the Continuous Improvement (CI) program introduced valuations of meaningful improvement proposals. The savings achieved through this program for 2013 can be estimated at more than 220 million crowns, "said OKD spokesman Market Skirt. Special Remuneration System The company has a special reward system created for the design improvement authors. The amount of the reward is based on the savings achieved by the company. Any employee who has made a meaningful proposal will automatically receive a reward of a thousand crowns. For example, a worker whose proposal is saving a million crowns for the company is entitled to a reward of ten thousand crowns. According to the OKD spokesman, the successful innovators at individual competitions have another opportunity to extraordinary appreciation of their designs. The staffs of OZO Ostrava are also making suggestions of their staff for minor improvements, consisting in particular in the technical treatment of the equipment used to facilitate some work. "It was specifically about avoiding reflective material loss and simplifying handling during conveyor belts on the sorting line, optimizing cabling in the offices, and modifying the handling trolley, which serves garage repair workshops. "Employees are motivated to provide improvement suggestions and suggestions for minor improvements, both by improving their own working conditions, but also by the financial reward they have for putting their design into practice," said Sarasota, Head of Promotion and Environmental Education.

Some police stations or police officers with wear safety vest are seen around the school all year round - but from Monday, the presence of the uniforms becomes even clearer. Not only in the morning between 7:00 and 8:00, and then after schooling, but also in schools. There are a number of seminars on safe road traffic. From the last March until April 4th, the police organize the spring round of the eighth year of the preventive information campaign "The Zebra does not look for you!" The new spring of this year is that in Prague and Central Bohemia police will sometimes be accompanied by representatives of Auto. While police prevention and transport operators in the Zebra campaign talk to schoolchildren primarily as non-motorized road users and discuss the safety of pedestrians (especially the lesson about proper crossing the road is never enough) and cyclists, car makers will be the kids as co-drivers In motor vehicles. Demonstration is mainly about demonstrations of proper attachment in child car seats; But also simulated impacts associated with explaining the operation of the airbag, remembers Renate Sander from the police presidency. Gift items increase efficiency Together with police officers, the BESIP coordinators will also go on the field. Various gift items are available to them and other partners, and the cops try to promote campaign effectiveness. Nor do not miss the notorious task-sticks with a police motif, much sought after in recent years. But - this time, Sander is very promising to give away reflective accessories, which will ensure that pedestrians can see them in the dark in time, even if they wear dark clothing. "First and foremost, these reflective elements should become a motivational element to remind children and youth of responsibility for their health and life in relation to their behavior in road traffic," Sander said. The fact that the pedestrian chauffeur dressed in black or blue dressed has a chance to notice on the verge of the road to the last moment - if not too late - confirmed by the head of Prague traffic police Pave. Such a reflective tape allows for a longer distance to respond to the presence of a pedestrian who is wearing white clothing. The inconspicuous light-reflecting feature of the car really can help prevent black ends...

Every year on the South Moravian roads, hundreds of pedestrians crash cars. Only this year, until the end of October, the police in safety vest have registered over three hundred such cases. Fourteen people died in accidents. This figure is likely to increase by the end of the year, as the winter months are the most risky for pedestrians on the roads all year round. "Statistics clearly show that there is an increased number of clashes with pedestrians in winter. Most of this is seen in fatal accidents, "said Region Coordinator Basin for the South Moravian Region. An increase in pedestrian accidents has reduced visibility in winter due to early dimming and dim light in the morning. "The combination of darkness and darkness with fog or rain is even worse," said Czech, adding that pedestrians often make bad impressions on poor visibility. For example, the man who passed the main move of Brno was paid this year. A passing driver in dark clothing without reflective elements did not register in time and knocked him off. The knocked man escaped only with slight wounds. The right choice of clothing can save lives for pedestrians on illuminated roads. The man in blue clothing recognizes the driver only when he is about eighteen meters away. Much better visibility is in white or yellow clothing, which reaches over fifty meters. The most effective means of improving visibility is reflective vests or tapes. "The highest quality reflective elements increase the visibility to two hundred meters. Drivers have a long time to respond to a pedestrian and thus to avert a collision, "police spokesman Panel said. The highest efficacy of the reflective parts of the clothing is on the moving parts of the body, the legs and hands. However, difficult visibility is not the only reason for prudence on winter roads. "Drivers must also count on longer braking lanes on wet, icy or snowy roads," Swab said. Drivers say the longer braking distance in the winter often underestimates and also forgets that there is a significant difference in the visibility of pedestrians on the road using remote and dipped lights. The long distance is a hundred meters away, and the distance is shortened by half the distance when driving with dipped beam. Approximately one third of all pedestrian-related accidents occur at crossings. According to police officers, people underestimate the risks and switch to red or cross the entrance directly before the arriving car. "Sometimes people do not look to the right or to the left, and they rely on having priority over the transition. Sometimes I just get stuck, "complained driver Michal. Dangerous headphones are also in the ear. The walker does not hear street sounds such as the noise of an incoming car, an ambulance siren or a tram bell. Police officers try to draw attention to irresponsible behavior on various preventative actions. At the end of October, for example, they held a meeting to see us! Participants learned about the risks in the cold months and the importance of reflective elements that are often distributed at police events. Prevention also involves more frequent punishment. "Because we did not notice a major shift in their discipline, we are increasingly tackling pedestrian offenses by a block penalty," explained Swab. In October only, the Brno police officers dealt with over three hundred misdemeanors. Safety has also been improved on some transitions. The Town Hall had twenty-five transitions. "We have made crossings mainly in the vicinity of primary and nursery schools, where children go to school and their children, especially during the winter months in the dark," said Patel, spokesperson of the Brno City Hall, adding that high-quality lighting can reduce the number of accidents on transitions according to experts.

"We have made crossings mainly in the vicinity of primary and nursery schools, where children go to school and their children, especially during the winter months in the dark," said Patel, spokesperson of the Brno City Hall, adding that high-quality lighting can reduce the number of accidents on transitions according to experts.

They sweated and worked underground for 17 years, 360 days a year and 24 hours a day. When the Gotthard base tunnel is inaugurated with great pomp next week, many of them have already left the scene. The 2,000 miners employed at the construction site remained anonymous, while they realized the work of the centuries. Nostalgia, pride and satisfaction; this is what René Kaufmann feels when he thinks of the tunnel. René Kaufmann, a giant with a reflective jacket and a solid handshake, has just spent 14 years in the Gotthard base tunnel. First in mine rescue, then in equipment management and finally as a locomotive engineer in Sedum (GR), where the difficult geological conditions allowed to work only with explosives. Blasting is the queen discipline in the tunnel. The blaster master performs a final check round before proceeding with the explosion. The detonation is deafening, the huge shock wave. The acrid smell of ammonia rises to the nose of the miners. It's hot - up to 50 degrees - wet and dust is ubiquitous. Thus the 46-year-old man described his daily task: "I had to carry comrades out of the tunnel because they cllapsed." Team work in the heart of the mountain is hard: ten days of work, four leave. Quick starts are not uncommon. "Either you're done for the tunnel, or you're not." René Kaufmann has been doing this job for thirty years. His great-grandfather and grandfather were already working in the mines. A small town in East Germany, this is tradition. The locality was known for decades for its pure copper ore. Since he was sixteen, he is in the mines. The daily work has undergone dramatic changes: while René Kaufmann has learned the craft from scratch, satellite-guided machines perform many tasks today. The first workers in reflective vest were still attacking the rock with pickaxes and shovels. But for Kaufmann, the challenge remained the same: "snatch" a tunnel into the mountains What has also remained the same: risks? Despite the most modern technology, the fear is there when the elevator drops 800 meters to Sedum and a new day begins. Blocks of unstable rock, chemical substances, fires or accidents: many dangers lie in the mountains. Kaufmann learned it painfully: two comrades lost their lives in the tunnel. The memory of this 28-year-old German is lively, has become daddy shortly before and crushed dead between two wagons of ballast. "These were hard times. Also because these accidents could have been avoided, "explains René Kaufmann. His compatriot had forgotten to press the emergency button to stop it. A miner must not only respect the mountain, but also the machines. The miners also count on Sainte Barbed, their patroness. There is no tunnel under construction that is not guarded by the saint. It is not only the blows of fate that bind miners. Their lives reflect their work in the mountains. In Sedum, Kaufmann and his comrades lived on the outskirts of the village, in containers installed above the building site. Each had a single room. WC and showers were upstairs; meals were taken in the canteen. All the minors came from abroad, especially from Germany, Austria, Portugal and Italy. Fellowship is crucial: "We are a small family". We invite ourselves for grills, we play football or cards. René remained in contact with some colleagues, "thanks to Facebook". Only teamwork allows for a real family life. After eight days, Kaufmann wear safety vest took the wheel of his car and was 800 kilometers. He spent five days with his wife and two sons before returning to Switzerland. The future remains open. And René Kaufmann is a bit disillusioned. He expected a little more consideration here: "Once the tunnel is over, they drop you like a hot potato." Currently, he takes care of the last interviews in the gallery. His contract expires the day before the festive inauguration of the tunnel. It has already been announced at the ORP, the regional placement office.

It was 2013 and the Spring Classic gave all participants inauspicious weather conditions. Cold, wind, rain, snow... a succession of storms which left me breathless, even though I followed the race lying comfortably on my couch. Of that crazy Milano I remember many images, even if those that most impressed me concerned the divided continuous change of the runners and the great difficulty in moving his hands to accomplish even the simplest gestures. Discard a finger, put on a reflective jacket more or a cap was completely impossible and in these circumstances to the technical Catelli was a possible collaboration in mind with Boa Closure System to create a warm glove and easy to wear in all circumstances. The Pro Team Cannondale tried long these gloves, guiding the development through a tight use. The ideal conditions for these gloves are cold and hard, just like in the last few days and the credit goes to Out Dry technology that provides a wind and water-resistant coating. This membrane is laminated directly inside the last glove thickness and has the task to regulate the microclimate, avoiding the formation of condensation and exclusively favoring the best thermal conditions. Moreover, this is very thin (0.03 mm) and so allows designers to use multiple insulating reflective materials with external dimensions, however, it contained. The interior is soft thanks to the brushed thermal fabric that traps fine warm air around the skin allowing a great comfort. The glove has a high enough cuffs in which flows the cable driven by the IP-1 Boa rotor, placed on the back of the hand. Turning the rotor in one direction will actuate the cables that reach the upper part of the wrist to obtain the perfect fit, while to loosen the tension just turn it in the other direction. With this system, you can adjust the glove and place the cuff above the jacket with reflective element, preventing the entry of cold air and rain in the jacket itself. The grip on the handlebar does not fail due to micro "Catelli" prints in relief and slightly rubberized fabric flowing between thumb and forefinger increasing the grip on the levers. The design of Boa Gloves AW16 reflects the highest standards of quality Castles and can boast of label Russo Corse, a special designation for those products that emerge to innovation and technology. Certainly I could not have hoped for better conditions to test these gloves, in fact, in this period of frost, rain and fog have never been lacking and the bitter cold of recent days was the icing on the cake. The house ensures a good coverage of up to -8 ° C , a very real temperature advancing at speeds of up to 40km / h. I do not have not registered draft nor do any infiltration and when you stop to answer the phone or to open a bar just drive the rotor Boa to slip off the glove. It would serve an insert suitable to the touch screen, well positioned at least on the thumb and forefinger. The cuff height is such as to incorporate the jacket, creating a unique structure-proof boar! The presence of the rotor does not bear any discomfort and does not restrict movement under any circumstances. The weight of the M size is about 124 grams while the available sizes range from XS up to XXL. Available in the only black color, stands out only the red logo of the Castle and it’s written in reflective material. The Boa system plays an essential role and is not a stretch, confirming that the integration work at optimum level.

The Swiss brand Assoc has always designed top-of-the-range bike clothing with reflective material. The products are expensive, but above all very technical. Many cyclists who have tasted the brand's products do not want to go back. The "ALS" concept offers a system of technical clothing for which each item is designed and developed to complement and work together, allowing you to practice cycling all year round. The goal is to insulate the body to retain enough heat and so regulate your body temperature regardless of weather conditions. If you have read the above, you know that this jacket is intended for use between 6 and 14 ° C. IJ means Insulator Jacket, so it's a windbreaker jacket. It replaces the ASSOS Series element One RX jacket. Although I am not a fan of green, the aesthetics is rather successful and most importantly, the reflective jacket is very visible. The iJ.haBu5 is designed to be worn as a second layer, over an undergarment. If you choose your first coat correctly, you can even extend the use of this jacket until the first cold winter. Not less than 7 fabrics, 20 panels and 14 components are used for its manufacture. The side panel’s forearm and back are made of breathable RXQ fabric. The front panel, the upper arms and the collar are in stratagem Light. With this material, as the temperature decreases, the permeability of the membrane is reduced, thus retaining body heat. On the inside, there is a polar type material that allows the body to be isolated from the outside air thanks to the trapped air. Nothing to say side finishes, it is spotless. Everything is perfectly adjusted. The collar goes up very high, allowing keeping the neck warm. A small flap comes to finish the Zip at the top so as not to bother. The cut is rather typed courier. The L is perfect, it needed no less. But no fear, that's normal. Once in position on the bike, the jacket perfectly matches the cyclist and his movements. Elastic placed at the bottom of the jacket allows the latter not to go up, even if you put yourself in a dancer. Nothing to say side finishes, it is spotless. Everything is perfectly adjusted. On the storage side, you are served with no less than 6 pockets! Yes, you read correctly. 3 back pockets, deep and widely accessible, as well as two side pockets, zipped, to protect your keys, your Smartphone (even those of last generation come in) or money. The fifth pocket is on the right arm. The jacket is very thin and light, so it seems to me that the temperature of use is wrong. 6 ° C seems optimistic while I feel that it can be widely used above 14 ° C. On the road, we appreciate quickly the comfort brought by this jacket windbreaker and its high level of comfort. The insulation and reflective tape is beautiful and well present, while ensuring good breathability to avoid overheating. But the temperature zone given by the Clearance is, at 1 ° C, just as far as I am concerned. Up to 7 ° C, I felt good with a quality but relatively thin underwear. Below, the first kilometers, which I often attack by a descent, are almost uncomfortable, the time that the body rises in temperature. Once a few kilometers traveled, you feel good. If the temperature rises during the exit, you will be at ease up to 15 ° C approximately. Beyond that, even if breathability is good, sweating will take over and cause discomfort.

Walking the streets of the beautiful county, we see all day and night a lot of riders. Some mind them and dress reflective jackets or clothes with bright colors, but if others are crazy and do what they know not notice. Some even succeed and become stars in statistics cyclists scattered on the road. Day to day, but imagine what it is like to go on a road at night without lights, Oncoming cars and suddenly ... Rambo bike! Without any reflective vest and reflective tape, dressed in camouflage ... More do something to avoid the meters! There are those in the area who wear black ninja total say they are an extension of asphalt. The problem is you cannot tell them anything if you tell them they look at you with a face like: "You do not see that I am ninja, not Romanian, so I understand what you say?” For cyclists who dress specifically to mess program Grim Reaper is not much we can give them instructions that they are in their world, but we are addressing in this way relatives and friends of these people. It is cheaper to put hand to hand to take a safety vest than to organize the funeral.

Last year, in view of the bicycle race, they had circled the holes with fluorescent paint. Now they have decided to buy a dozen bags of tar to fill those potholes that dot the Vientiane and a stretch of road that connects the hamlet of Two Doors. They are members ASD Brochette Pavia, historical society cycling born in Mirabella in 1934, with its 35 members. Six of them in a couple of days they decided to improvise menders and equipped with reflective vest, paddle and tar bags, have paved the most affected by natural disasters points for the race on June 2, the seventh edition of the "Grand Prix of San Genesis" it probably will repeat the 220 recorded last year. "It's a safety issue," says President Giorgio Brochette, grandson of that Mario Brochette that in '27 and in '29 he participated in two editions of the Milan-Sarema in '32 and the Tour of Italy. And Tuesday there will be the famous Grand Prix, 64 kilometers, eight laps starting in San Genesis, a route dotted with potholes that could endanger the safety of cyclists. A precedent occurred in 2009, when a participant with reflective jacket had fallen. "The consequences were serious - says Brochette - and we must not forget the damage that can be carried over from bicycles that cost from 1,500 to 8,000 Euros. Damaging a wheel may result in an expense even a thousand euro, not to mention the fall. " "People - says the president - had mistaken us for public menders and screaming us that the roads ahead of elections." And they explain that they were just volunteers to a club who proceeded to redevelop a dozen kilometers, using tar bags of 25 kilos each. "We are like a third world country, the citizens pay taxes without being able to count on basic services - said Angelo in safety vest, regional and local councilor. It is absurd that the province is unable to ensure minimum levels of security." "The municipal roads are in good condition, but we have fixed some deteriorated - the precise points Cristiana mayor -. It is fair to meet these sports associations producing economy. "
