There are certain steps that an individual or a firm must follow in order to install Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) units. A few required step for installing a natural gas service are discussed below.
Load of Gas: The details of pressure required at meter outlet and the connected gas load should be submitted in writing by the owner to the sales representative. The pressure is generally measured in inches of water column.
Location of Meter: The agreed upon location for the application of Gas Service should be properly planned. The location should have a proper site plan and a good foundation, if the building has already been erected.
Gas Service Line: The sales representative from the installation service must be provided with the most intricate details regarding the site. The representative then identifies the gas service line route. Any underground barriers in the property should be identified by the owner of a given property and informed to the representative. Underground barriers can be anything ranging from sprinkler system, septic system, oil tanks, underground electric lines and wells. All these should be kept under consideration while the representative looks for the gas service line.
Process of Evaluation: The owner must seek engineering approval before attempting to undergo LP gas installation. The advice of the experts must be duly noted and applied to the site of installation.
Marking before Installation: The gas installation service providers generally mark the area of installation prior to the beginning of the procedure. This is done mostly to keep the site from unnecessary disturbances and also ensure protection of civilians.
Safe Digging: The underground utilities are located and marked in order to ensure save digging in the site.
Permits: City, own or state permits should be applied for by the owner or the installation service provider, that is, if applicable.
Gas Service Line Installation to be Scheduled: Before the installation of the LPG units, the representative of the gas installation service ideally contacts the owner in advance and provides a tentative construction date. After the construction is complete, the contractor must contact the representative and inform her/him about all criteria that were met during the construction procedure.
Installation of Gas Service Line: The construction crew installs service line at the given location. The representative provides the owner with the necessary contact and other details regarding resources which are usually required during the construction process.
Installation of the Gas Meter: The representative should be contacted again by the owner once the gas installation is complete in order to ask for a date for installation of the gas meter. This is to be done only after all the requirements of the LP gas unit are met.
Restoration: Responsibility for restoration of private property should be completely undertaken by the owner. The public property restoration may be carried out by the service provider themselves.
