Addiction Are Gone: God Gave Me a Sober living and Halfway hous

In an earlier post I suggested that anybody who is depressed absolutely MUST develop some sort of reason to live. Ideally, you create a master plan that revolves around a goal that you really want. When depressed it is difficult to do anything creative, but presuming you are seeking treatment, you need to boost yourself along your path to wellness.
Literally create the plan to get you onto some type of mission in life. If you need help, pray for help and it will come. Pray the letters H E L P and help will come, you must believe this. If you have demons like I used to, depression, anxiety, addiction--it can all be swept away if you can embark on a mission who you believe is for God. God gave me an incredible vision, a total almost inexplicable gift, in life after I climbed up from the depths of a 10 year depression which led to addiction.
I bagged a 20 year career on Wall Street to do something that would hopefully help others. At first, the only thing I could think of after treatment was to start a sober living and Halfway house. Nothing too fancy, but just a really nice house that people would be comfortable in and where they could start pulling their lives together. Having been through the cycle of being knocked out by depression and getting stuck in the cycle of trying to use drugs and alcohol to feel better, I thought I could help others who were going through similar problems.
Long story short, I had a partner, we were successful, we opened a second house and before I knew it the guy had relapsed and smoked about $60,000 all up through a little 3-inch glass pipe behind my back -- while he went to AA meetings and managed the other house and played my best friend all the way until the end. That hurt. It was no way to end my first business in sobriety (dead broke too). Everything really MUST happen for a reason, I just can't help thinking now, however.
I prayed and prayed and prayed and I swear to you one day I woke up with a crystal clear vision about building a resource website that was like the mini Google of the recovery world. The idea would begin with a website organized to search for sober living homes nationwide that would attract both guests searching for houses, and bring in houses that would pay to be on the site. This was to be my new mission in life and has been -- and has kept me so busy and fulfilled I can't tell you.
So "stage one" of the big picture is now a reality -- the entrepreneurial project I have been working on for 18 months finally launched in October 2010. We have amassed the largest database of sober livings and halfway houses anywhere, and we have as of this writing in December 2010 about 4000 houses input. We have input them with our company's name in the search boxes so that we can keep track of how many people we refer to each house, so that we can use that information to spark a house manager's interest.
Rather than me ramble on about it, as proud as I am, if you have ever wanted to see what sober livings look like, one of the differences between our site and others who have gone before is that we offer a very visual look at each house, so the guest can get a "feeling" about that house --making it easier to make that all important call to a house manager. Now we have to get the word out to sober living managers and treatment centers in the country, I could use your help. Please visit the site and refer anybody in the recovery world who deals with drug and alcohol treatment or problems to the site. Stop on by for a visit and have a look at our site, read the blog, and send anyone who needs help to soberlivingsearch.com or post the site's address for the benefit of others! Thanks ever so much for your time, and May God bless you today and every day.
My name is Thomas Rees and I have chosen to dedicate the rest of my life to building a site that I pray will eventually be a valuable resource for professionals and laymen alike -- if you have a question and it relates to addiction, drugs, alcohol, mood disorders, dual diagnosis, an ask the doctor section and so much more. It will start with the largest pictorial sober living search database in the US to get us some traffic, and that is functional at [http://www.soberlivingsearch.com]. Sober living is such a critical step in the drug and alcohol treatment and recovery process and it is often misunderstood and ill-perceived. In fact, the foundation to staying sober can be built at a sober living. The site is fully functional with blog and other resources. It helps people get over the fear of sober living because it shows you the house and even a picture of the manager. Comfort=probability of joining a house. It’s the best step you can take in recovery. Sober living managers need to check out this coming dynamo of a site!
You can find my personal blog Depression, Anxiety, and Addiction at http://floridarecoverygroup.com/ . If someone in your family has a mood disorder or a possible addiction, you should find the blog very helpful. I'm not selling anything but honesty.
