For those who have been following the saga of MX Properties and Lisbon Portugal lawyer Carmen De Souza, there is unfortunately not much new information to report. However, there are a few things that should be communicated in a more straightforward manner to ensure that new individuals understand where they fall in this ongoing saga.  MX Properties hired an outside consultant named John Diak, who through previous contacts, introduced them to several individuals who wanted to establish mutually beneficial partnerships that could potentially make everyone a lot of money through the purchase of financial instruments used in bank to bank lending activity. Unfortunately, the business partners were not everything they had purported themselves to be and ultimately left MX Properties about $1 million lighter in the bank account.  After asking Mr. Diak about the situation and pushing him to provide them with some sort of remedy to this situation, the consultant presented MX Properties with a letter that had been addressed to him from an attorney in Lisbon Portugal named Carmen de Souza. Ms. De Souza offered to help MX Properties get access to the credit lines that they initial deposits were supposed to initiate and proceed forward with the outlined projects, so long as they wired her $11,000 in legal fees.  Of course, MX Properties was initially suspicious of the demand, but felt relatively safe after confirming that Ms. De Souza was, in fact, a practicing attorney in Lisbon and that she had sent several letters confirming that she would provide instructions for immediate payment to the banks after receiving payment from MX Properties, so they wired the money in hopes that the previous delays were just that, delays, and not what they had began to suspect, which is fraud.  Unfortunately, MX Properties was defrauded again, when after sending the money, the banks did not make any of the project funds available and now there is a new, yet unnamed individual who is attempted to slander the good name of MX Properties in the public in order to divert attention away from all of the parties involved in the fraud that had been perpetrated against MX Properties over the past few months. And MX Properties will no longer stand for it.  Repeated attempts and appeals have been made to the business partners as well as Carmen de Souza to return the money they have taken illegally from MX Properties or move forward with the initial business plans. Otherwise, they will have to resort to taking legal means in order to recoup the money that has been stolen. You can keep abreast of any updates in this ongoing situation by visiting the blog located here: http://carmendesouza.blogspot.com.   There are many reasons why finding a quality lawyer in Lisbon Portugal might be necessary. However, you should avoid Carmen De Souza at all costs.
